The Hampstead Scientific Society is referred to below as 'The Society' or 'We'.
The Society respects the confidentiality of your personal data and does not do anything with the details that you would not reasonably expect.
When members resign from the Society or fail to renew membership, their contact details will be deleted from the Society's records unless there is a legitimate reason for keeping them.
Trustees may provide further data and their data is shared with the Charity Commission under legal obligation and contact details may be shared with the public with consent for the Society to be contactable.
If you subscribe to the Society's web update notification service, you supply your email address. This is kept in order to provide the service and until you unsubscribe or the email address no longer accepts the notices. If you make an enquiry of the Society you may supply contact details which we will use to contact you to give a response.
Speaker's contact details are collected through various sources, e.g. publicly available information or personal contact. They are used and retained for the Society's legitimate interests of arranging scientifically based events.
The Society may obtain other personal data occasionally, e.g. from those who offer and supply services under contract to the Society and these are held under legitimate interests of maintaining the Society's property or activities or under contractual obligations.
The Society uses posthog to collect anonymous data about web-site usage such as which pages are visited. No personal details are stored and no cookies are used.
Its Facebook site is subject to the privacy policies of Facebook.
The Society may from time to time use third party services.
We use membermojo to manage membership and member's data. This is subject to the the membermojo privacy notice
Members supply their personal data when they join or renew. The data comprises contact details which are used to provide members with membership services and contact those who volunteer for various activities. It may contain payment details. If you consent to subscribing via gift aid, you declare that you are a taxpayer, your details are shared with HMRC so that the Society can collect the gift aid, and retained as long as legally required.
We use eventbrite to manage observatory bookings. This is subject to the the eventbrite privacy notice and members can choose what information to supply.
The Society does not collect sensitive personal data. We ensure that there are appropriate physical and technical controls in place to protect your personal details. Your personal information is only accessible by appropriate Secretariat members. If privacy is breached, we will report to you and the relevant supervisory authority.
We may change this privacy notice from time to time. If we make any significant changes in the way we treat your personal information we will make this clear on our website www.hampsteadscience.ac.uk or by notifying you directly.
