  • BSc (Eng) ACGI in Chemical Engineering (Imperial College)
  • MSc DIC in Industrial Safety (Imperial College) 1972
  • PhD (History & Philosophy of Science) (UCL) 1992
  • PhD thesis published as a book: "Water which does not wet hands" - the alchemy of Michael Sendivogius, Polish Academy of Sciences, 1994.
    Translated into Polish and published in 1997.
• Chemistry teacher since 1972
  • At Highgate since 1975
  • Written one book and several dozen scholarly/current affairs articles.
  • Given many public lecture/demonstrations since 1975.
• Specialist interests include: photography, automobile engineering, history of science and technology (alchemy in particular), music (violin, piano and accordion) dancing and mushroom picking.
