Christine McGourty
has been Science Correspondent at the BBC for more than 7 years, reporting on science and technologhy breakthroughs for all radio, and tv news outlets. Her travels in search of a good story take her far and wide ... in the last year she spent a few months making a series of news reports in Antarctica and then travelled to a new observaroty on the mountain-tops of Chile. Before that, she was Technology Correspondent for the Daily Telegraph for 6 years. And before that she was News Reporter at the distinguished science magazine Nature, first in London, then in Washington DC.
She obtained a science degree (chemistry) from Edinburgh University. Then she completed a Journalism Postgraduate Diploma at Cardiff University. And she has just completed an MA in the history and philosophy of science at Birkbeck College, London.
Apart from that, she lives in North London with husband and two children, and loves travelling, skiing, reading.
